Star Wars is such a onions universe, pretty much any other sci-fi would be better for a game.

Itโ€™s not sci fi, itโ€™s fantasy in space aka space opera. The scientific mechanics of the world are irrelevant.

I think you're wrong. Hating Star Wars became popular among adults that don't realize it's a universe for teenagers and kids. You're a cringelord if you like it as an adult, but you're also fucking cringe if you treat it as a setting meant for mature audiences.

>adults that don't realize it's a universe for teenagers and kids.

People realise this, the issue is not any perceived immaturity but the low quality of everything after the OT.

Prequel apologists who argue that the only reason a person could dislike Jar-Jar is if they misunderstand the spirit Star Wars and watch TPM expecting a gritty adult film, are dishonestly dodging the real problem. Yeah it's a kid's film. It's not a GOOD kid's film.

The old point and click adventures were decent Trek games. The bad games came afterwards, those stupid FMV games and then the various violent action games that were at variance with the deliberately paced, talky, and mostly peaceable Trek on television.

The ideal Trek game would be something like Disco Elysium desu

I love Star Wars. The movies, the books, the comics, the games. I've loved it since I was a kid and I always will.

This. Star Wars is pretty much Sword and sorcery in space. Thatโ€™s why it makes for a good RPG setting
