When you take into account how easily they broke, the true sales numbers are actually less than 1/2 what they are purported to be. Everyone had to buy at least 2 PS2s back in the day. More individuals own a Switch.

The PS2 won't outsell Switch because the Switch will presumably still have some legs like how the PS2 did. It still has millions left in it.

It's actually the opposite. Both the PS2 and the PS1 had a higher game attach rate than the switch does. The switch is artificially inflated by families buying multiple handhelds for their kids. The playstation was a family console that multiple people enjoyed. You need two switches for Timmy and Bobby but only one PS2.
