despite fucking up at every step (ps5 pro without disc drive, 12 concords, awful first party output) their main competitor pretty much gave up (it took them two generations but we finally got there) so now they have a monopoly in the home console market
half of the profit comes from the store/microtransactions, you don't really need a steady stream of exclusive if normies are more than happy to purchase cod skins
