You should be playing games on your monitor. And OLED has burn in. So save it for your TV, on the occasion when you're watching a movie or a TV show.

While burn in will eventually happen, it's not much of concern unless you play the same game as a second job for a couple of years straight.

So basically you're gonna have to hide your task bar and never look at the same tab for too long.
...yeah that's retarded. Just get an OLED TV and a 4K monitor for gaming (that you can hook up to your TV if you really want to)
Source: paid way too much for a massive OLED TV.

Even outside of color and contrast, OLEDs have the best repsonse times only beaten by CRTs

>oled has screen burn-in and VRR flicker
Will we ever get something better? Cause if this is the best itโ€™s ever gonna get then thatโ€™s depressing

Mini-LED is the answer. Not as good as OLED, but less prone to burn in

While hiding the task bar helps, looking at something for even a decent amount of time isn't going to cause burn in.
I swear people act like burn in will happen if something stays static on screen for 10 seconds.

Mini LED is a nice alternative, sure you lose out on how quick OLEDs are but you get a fair amount of the other benefits with enough dimming zones.

I saw my friend's monitor get burn-in in person so I stay away from it. But if you want to buy one, go ahead, I'm just speaking from experience. who really needs darker blacks for video games anyways

we will get something better but you'll be an old men by the time its viable for consumers. waiting 20 years for tech loses its appeal when you're no longer growing up with it.

I've had one for over a year now and no burn in.
I guess it depends on if he had an older OLED display and what games he played or other shit he did?
>who really needs darker blacks for video games anyways
It's nice for some games but far from what I would say is mandatory or something you can easily live without

Yes, because OLED will have burn in from static UIs.

CRTS have nice blacks. They aren't washed out like LCD.

Have they still not solved VRR flicker? My LG CX has it and that is a 2020 model. Damn.
