If you liked the exploration aspect of f4 but hated the quests, f76 is the perfect game for you. Had a looot of fun when they gave the game away for free a year ago.

It's my understanding if you liked the loop of gameplay from Fallout 4 you would like Fallout 76. It's for those people. So me. I should probably give it a shot someday.

Camp building is its best feature, I spent thousands of hours and dollars on atoms building over the years. Finally quit and deleted my toons, they get you with fomo.

for last year or two they have been making some drastic changes to combat
scoped single shot weapons became viable, shotguns cripple enemies with impunity
at the moment heavy guns, bows, melee(including unarmed) are being tested
aside from that they added 4 man raids, more coordinated content with various objectives each stage
don't know about "good now", but things are looking up

I play it sometimes as one of those fall back games time waster when theres nothing else to play, it's just okay.
If you're someone who liked fallout 4 as a game where you just go around looting and shooting stuff you will like 76 since it's just that but with a way bigger map, a lot of different types of weapons, bosses and its multiplayer.
My biggest problem with it is there are constant nerfs or changes to perks and weapons so you're expected to constantly rebuild your build and weapons when these are things you spend hours unlocking farming legendarys to make. Another ones about to come out that pissed a lot of people off.

It's a fun map to potter around in. It still mostly makes you want a singleplayer version to mod but I enjoy a casual screwing about in it.

The way I played the game, I never really went for the quest locations, stumbling on them randomly before I explored the whole map. The only annoying thing about nanny was having to take the elevator every time you'd have to talk with her.

I installed like 40 mods for F76 back in the day lol. Sure, they were mostly for UI and clarity, but afaik there's even titty mods just like for every other 3d fallout game.
