How do you actually discuss vidya without it becoming ad homs and black&white thinking? Pic related, usually how every discussion goes if someone points out something they don't enjoy.

look around you. every other thread is a gooner thread. the threads that get the most traction before being nuked (other than literal porn) are threads about hating women and e-celeb threads. most people here don't play videogames (or if they do, they play a very limited scope of games). people don't have the knowledge/context to actually discuss games and their design, they base everything off of youtube videos. it's grim, but it isn't much better anywhere else. the only people left who you would want to talk to about game design are out there actually playing or designing games.
