>it's the year 2009
>you're out of school and you've only been a NEET for a few years
>you start up your copy of Fallout New Vegas on your computer with a Phenom II and HD 5770
Things were still good.

The game also crashed every 5 minutes back then because it was poorly coded

You're just pedantic. 2009 was a better year than 2010. Who is going to remember the exact date 15 years later?

I remember playing it on launch, it crashed after several hours and I lost everything, didn't touch it until months later when it was finally at least somewhat patched

>Play NV after 3
>Rush through the quests expecting it to be the same guided theme park design of 3
>find it boring
>quit around the time you get to Vegas
>return to that same save a few months later just to finish it
>think very little of the game
>fast forward to 2012
>replay Fallout 3
>somehow end up loving it even more than the first time
>did all the DLCs truly immersing myself in the world
>don't even bother with NV after thinking 3 is all that matters to me
>fast forward to 2016
>finally replay New Vegas
>this time I actually pay attention instead of just expecting it to hand it all to me
>get incredibly invested in the world and its politics and the factions and story
>do all the DLCs finish a massive playthrough at 120 hours
>now I think it rivals 3 but I still think the capital wasteland is a better setting
>fast forward to 2024
>replay NV again and this time I love it just as much all over again
>go straight into 3 after and the shit writing starts really standing out
>get disappointed in just how bad the world building is aside from the good set dressing and locales
>finish it thinking much less of it than I did before
