He always pushed for his IPs, he never abandoned, until they were taken away from him, all his games are polished and have a high level of detail and care, the vision and themes of his games have resonated, he never gone off track (like Resident Evil, Silent Hill, Final Fantasy. Mario, Zelda, GoW,etc)
He doesn't slop like fromsoftware, or go way too goofy like Yakuza, he does plot twists better than Ace Combat, he does music better than DmC, he does political commentary better than Nier Automata.

>he does political commentary better than Nier Automata...is a bizarre statement.
NA is anything but political. It's a more existentialistic, philosophical statement piece, that both warns us of the dangers of our own "programming", while surprisingly also celebrates the history of humanity and video games.
>>714687331Nier Automata literally names characters after people that founded political systems that are still relevant to this day
>>714688142>Nier Automata literally names characters after people that founded political systemsIt really doesn't. It loves to utilize names of famous poets and philosophers, but even that is surface level stuff that is not used in a political manner, but rather as superficial way for machines trying to find meaning by "adopting" human memes (the original 1970s definition, not the "internet meme" corruption).
And all that is just low-level stuff in the grand scale of the game's story, which itself plays rear role to the more important subtext, tying the imagery to us, the living human beings playing the game in the early years of the 21st century.
