B2 is superior in movement and combat and overall fun, but it's more a run of the mill vania, not as original and with a bit more retarded story. It's not really religion edgy. It's inspired by Catholic beliefs and motifs, but nothing feels forced to me. It's a game about the need for suffering that manifested a deity that fulfilled that need in abundance, but also religion officials who became corrupted by power and everything is fucked now. Pretty much your standard JRPG plot.
