By making Prince of Persia/Rayman instead, AssCreed died with Revelations.

Does anyone find it odd how Assassin's Creed of all games managed to become like Call of Duty and Fifa tier to normies? Like why did they like Assassins Creed of all games?

AC was always shit. It's the same as Crysis; a shitty game that was only liked because of one or two things that were considered groundbreaking for the time. Except unlike Crysis, AC managed to stay afloat because AC fans are literal drones.

The older Assassinโ€™s Creed games have aged like milk.
First of all, the gameplay is extremely simple and unengaging, and the combat feels braindead.
And who thought it was a good idea to lock parts of cities and prevent players from exploring them freely right from the start?

Additionally, Ezio is a highly overrated character. His personality is decent, but the cutscenes fail to showcase it properly because most of them are poorly executed and all of side characters are one dimensional.
The storylines of both the first game and the Ezio trilogy are also overrated. They are very straightforward and simplistic โ€” just a few Templars involved in a rather shallow conspiracy.

You are right. Assassins Creed has incredible premise, but the gameplay and story of the games are so shallow, its hilarious.

the only reason crysis didn't stay afloat is that they turned it into cod for consoles

They need SOVL. Modern AC games are designed to be just like the last one, so they can milk the fans. There is no passion or creativity.

>Crysis
There has yet to be a game that surpasses Crysis 1 in its domains. Even graphically, no one is trying.

It genuinely fucking can't because this is a franchise that should have died with the 3rd numbered entry.
The whole appeal of the old AC games was that you went to the past to prevent the appocalypse in the near future, in this case the 2012 solar flare.
After 3 went out with a wet fart and 4 failed to set up a proper modern day hook the franchise was more or less narratively on life support.
Origins looked promising with it actually setting up shit but Odyssey and its dlc just completely ruined anything interesting about the past by doubling down on fantasy bullshit and waving it off as Isu advanced experiments, ripping out any sense of mystery and faint realism left.
So basically Ubisoft failed to do anything interesting with the modern day after 4, then butchered any wonder and mystery of the past with the rpg games.

They should have stuck with the kino writing from the 1st game. People were too brainlet for it so they went full retard for the rest of the franchise.

I didn't even like them when they came out personally. I played the first one a fair amount, but never finished it because of how repetitive it was and unengaging the combat was. My mom gave me the second as a birthday present and I never even opened it.
