Wanna know why the Steam Deck is the best PC handheld on the market?
>why?
Trackpads, back buttons, capacitive joysticks and Steam Input. Most importantly, the left trackpad.

The right trackpad is typically used for mouse movement, and does a very good job at it. But the left? People FUCKING UNDERESTIMATE how USEFUL the left trackpad is in conjuction with Steam Input!
>how?
Simple.
YOU CAN PROGRAMME IT. In Steam Input, you can programme the left trackpad wide to do a variety of things. The most significant of these things? The ability to use them to navigate hotkeys. Radial menus are the best way to use the left trackpad, especially when using them in conjunction with the rest of the controls.

This allows you to PC games that were never designed for a controller. It gives you the versatility of a keyboard without the bulk - a true handheld.
>but who cares?
This matters because it opens up entire genres exclusive to PC (outside of typing heavy games). Ever tried playing a strategy game on a controller? It's fucking cancer because you can't get those hotkeys onto a standard gamepad. But the Steam Deck solves those issues ON THE GO.
>why not a laptop?
Laptops fucking suck and need an outlet and a surface to use properly.

Name 3 games where you actually use capacitive joysticks.

Literally any shooter where gyro is used. You put your thumb on and aim, take your thumb off and readjust.

I just wish the Deck were better for retro games.
>but it's perfect!!
Sorry, need good D-pad.
>but it's right there!!!!!!!!!111
Yeah, squished up in the corner to make room for the trackpad that I use in 0.0001% of games. It's uncomfortable to use. So are the ABXY buttons. And I feel like the shoulder buttons are going to break if I press them even half as hard as I can safely press the rest of the buttons. Deck is pretty good for games that are 100% controlled with analog inputs and literally nothing else though.

>d-pad and buttons
Get the clicky mod for whole thing. It makes them 10 times better.
>bumpers
Knock on Gaben's door and ask him why Valve used the shitty Xbox bumper design for the Deck.
