If they spent over a decade making a game and 98% of the buildings are once again inaccessible, I'm considering it a massive failure. What the fuck is the point of an open world game with an emphasis on exploration when EVERY SINGLE building for the most part is nothing more than background decoration? Give me one good reason why can't go inside a casino, or a comedy club, or a mall, or a movie theater while driving by these distinct looking buildings? Why the fuck would I only want to hang out on a sidewalk for most of a game? Let me go to a suburban neighborhood and break into someone's house while they're either sleeping or away and steal their shit or roleplay as a serial killer. It doesn't have to be EVERY house in the neighborhood but one house for every couple blocks isn't asking for much. Give me more freedom and stop being lazy faggots. Also there better be single player content for every fucking update they do with this game.

Except it does. It's called immersion. It's fundamentally important for games like this. Even if you can't do much in these buildings, it still brings depth to the game because then it doesn't feel like you're just walking through a world of cardboard cutouts. It's cool to walk into a place and appreciate the thought that went into creating it. It's fun to have a place to discover you can enter thus giving the player more reason to continue finding these areas.

seems like an alright idea at face value until you realize that the work involved in creating "enough" enterable interiors vs. making the seafloor is so far fucking separated it's incomparable. it's a bunch of textured geometry with some coral, rock and grass models. the only time i've ever believed this shit would work is if every building had a door that can lead to a procedural interior that's roughly the right size/shape but who fucking cares enough for that besides the 70 iq kids who keep asking for it

I played through a gta game for the first time last month. It was gta san andreas. That's the impression i got. For 90% of the game you're in a vehicle of some sort. And it does vehicles well

There are some minigames and other shit but overall the gameplay is all about handling the vehicles. The game is called "Grand theft auto" for a reason.
