Underrated and based film

I actually blame that movie for my current sci-fi obsession, before watching it, I was a pretty average normie who like playing soccer and talking to girls and shit. After seeing it, I got incredibly depressed that I didn't have a cool mechanical arm like Silver, and I became obsessed with it. I had crayon-drawn blueprints and word docs of part lists and all this shit that I thought I would need to get give myself a mechanical arm with gadgets and junk. It got to the point where my therapists told my mom that I couldn't be allowed near sharp objects because of some dreams I told them about where I cut off my own arm and attached my home-made Long John Silver arm. She freaked the fuck out and hid all the knives we had, and my dad had to cut my food for me for the longest time. He finally stopped doing this when I left for college...it's been a good month of freedom so far, but they still call me every day asking if I'm ok on my own. Ffs, they told me brother who's here at school to keep an eye on me, and he keeps coming by with boxes of pre-cut food. I still eat it because, hey, free food, but it's so fucking infuriating

Also, I really liked Mr. Arrow, he didn't take shit from anyone

Disney quit funding this type of thing almost entirely because of how poorly Treasure Planet did, and they knew it would. Clements and Musker went over studio chief's head to try and get it produced because it was their dream movie, only to be strung along for multiple projects. When it finally came out, it was a complete box office bomb despite heavy marketing. There's been tons of analysis about why exactly it did so poorly, but you can boil most of it down to not being enough of a musical, expensive to animate, and probably being to faithful an adaptation of a story tons of people already know. Treasure Planet is actually a really good adaptation of the Treasure Island novel, but most people knew the basic story beats when it came out because there had been so many famous movie adaptations already over the years.

Despite many being influenced by SW prequels, the vast majority of them not only weren't popular but were financial disappointments/flops/bombs. Prequels-themed sci-fi was an interesting time that is rarely discussed. FF12 is the vidya equivalent to Prequels-sci-fi

>You're never there for me!
>What?
>You're never there for me. I mean, you were there when I won the big game, but not when I thought the sky fell. And not at the ball field, and certainly not now. You've been ashamed of me ever since the acorn thing happened and we have to talk about it because Modern Mallard says avoiding closure can lead to molting, and I'm already small and on top of that, I don't think I could handle being bald
As flawed of a CGI debut which Chicken Little was for Disney, this scene is very cathartic

Disney is like every big conglomerate they go with the times and notice trends on a surface level. Princess musical movies were making way for movies with different, more down to Earth stories like Lilo and Stitch, Brother Bear and Shrek. Only Shrek was 3D which was also becoming the next big thing over 2D. So now Disney decides to gut their 2D animation department FOREVER to this very day.
