Why don't they have a bigger industry besides bioware?

You know what Alberta doesn't have anon?
Rats.
They're the only Rat free place in the entire western world because they were forward thinkers.

People talk shit about Alberta anon, but you know what an Alberta citizen has never had? A rat infestation.

They protect their borders.

For a second I thought you were taking a stab at Toronto's actual rat problem due to their garbage levels.

After the rest of Canada saw how badly Ubisoft was abusing Quebec's tax breaks to the creatives, they have no incentive to do so.

Well Toronto has a rat problem because they weren't as forward thinking as Albertans to stop their spread if you really think about it.
Thankfully, there are border patrols to stop their rats from their westerly spread.

Alberta has not much of a rat problem because there's zero airports worth a damn to fly to, nor job opportunities. Also that anywhere above Edmonton is full of old people and barely anyone in general.

Not anymore. Smith cut almost all the provincial funding for rat hunting because it was a wasteful socialist policy impacting our struggling pest control industry.

Alberta's average iq is like 78. Once you leave the cities the majority of people are temporary foreign worker slaves from India or the Philippines, and people who genuinely think the earth is flat. Who the fuck is going to make video games?

It's true, if you told someone at a bar here you make video games, you're going to be stomped to death in the parking lot by rig workers in edmonton jerseys.

Population is too small and spread out.

The city of Calgary paid almost half a million CAD for a blue fucking metal ring. If you're expecting creativity from Alberta, you are high.

This is true, but it gets sketchy in places. Take a wrong turn into a range rode along Cowboy Trail and you're gonna get vanished into some psycho old world rape cult.

It's pretty weird you get heavy hitters like Cuphead and Balatro coming out of Saskatchewan which is smaller and more spread out while Alberta has pretty much nothing. Only major difference I can think of is that Alberta is much more conservative and corporate.

It can't be that because Albertan students rank as some of the best in the entire world, there's only other small sample sizes like Massachusetts and Singapore that are higher.
