How did /v/ learn to stop spending money on new games and just finish your own backlog? I got 108 games in my backlog and yet my brain keeps wanting to consume more and add to my library.
Meanwhile I know all the games on sale for this summer will be on sale later this year anyways. Why do I feel such an urge to spend now? I hate myself.

modern games are shit and I just want to play factorio for the rest of my life. I also learned how to do dosbox so I'm not paying for games anymore. Most abandonware is better than modern AAA gacha

I generally don't buy shit unless I'm going to play it then. Are you at least buying all those games on sale. Imagine paying full price to pre order a game just to put it in your back log lol.

its easy when new games suck

I'm on the same boat, just came to the conclusion that the way is to COMPLETELY stop buying games
>b-but this new game that just released
Whatever. It's probably shit. And if it isn't, It'll be 50%off in less than a year
>b-but the steam sale
Whatever. I already got 190 games in my backlog just on steam alone, not counting my switch. If I truly wanna play this game that's on sale, I'll just pirate it.

This was me debating on spending $80 for Kojimbo Stranding 2 or just using that same amount for a bunch of cheap steam games on sale.
I have come to the conclusion that I'm just not very good with money

It's fun impulse buying games on sale and forgetting about them. And then months later looking through your library and realizing you own that game.

Start with short games from your backlog.

Every sale is another turn of the wheel. You reinstall an old classic, thinking “this time I’ll finish it,” only to get distracted when some indie rogue-lite hits 65% off. No escape. No nirvana. Only unplayed tutorials and eternal wishlist suffering.

I stopped checking steam cuz I'm not really gonna play it. it might even be censored. It's better to pirate if it even comes to that.
