Seriously though how retarded does one need to be to use a Controller?

Mouse and keyboard all the way. Superior no matter what you do applies IRL mechanics too such as comfiness.

the sticks actually have a practical purpose, the taller your stick the more minute and precise movement you can make with it, it's why RC vehicle toys and drones have the sticks they do

Any game where your movement is relative to the orientation of the camera is also better played with a mouse and keyboard.
Unibody controllers are for 2D platformers and fixed camera games and the modern controller isn't even good at those.

It's just really durable and reliable. The d-pad feels like ass for some and perfect for others, the shoulder buttons are these tiny weird things and the analogs have cardinal snapping so they suck for aiming, but you can always count on them even if you go underwater (you might not survive, but the controller will).

Try doing this with a mouse and keyboard without fucking breaking it or fumbling with your keys.

>Any game where your movement is relative to the orientation of the camera is also better played with a mouse and keyboard.

Not really since the keys on a keyboard are generally not good for action games that tend to require quick inputs or repeated inputs in addition to being farther apart than on a controller. You often see devs give the KB+M combo garbage defaults because you are assumed to be using a controller for action adventure games especially since they were designed for a controller since the PS1 days.

Same thing for pretty much every other genre but RTSes and FPSes (which were always designed as PC games first and foremost and hence benefit the most from KB+M) and other genres where the PC is the primary platform.

I'm not even going to touch on how you can destroy your keyboard playing some of these games.

>webm is just an auto-lockon rollslopper because controllers can't aim, dodge or do space for shit, a bunch of flashy particle effects so that it seems more busy and a "le ebin cinematic finisher takedown" so that controller players feel like their actions are more snappy
You're not helping your point, nothing is happening in this webm.
>Not really since the keys on a keyboard are generally not good for action games that tend to require quick inputs or repeated inputs in addition to being farther apart than on a controller.
Just rebind appropriately. Repeated inputs are great on Keyboard where the switches can be something other than generic chinesium. If you don't like the keyboard, just get one with a different layout.
>You often see devs give the KB+M combo garbage defaults because you are assumed to be using a controller for action adventure games especially since they were designed for a controller since the PS1 days.
Layouts are almost always garbage and killed a lot of interest in consoles during the 7th gen multiplat era.
>Same thing for pretty much every other genre but RTSes and FPSes (which were always designed as PC games first and foremost and hence benefit the most from KB+M) and other genres where the PC is the primary platform.
FPS has been increasingly designed for controllers since the 2000s, which is why they are so shit now. They benefit so much from KB+M because the developers will get absolutely blasted if they fuck up key remapping and the control scheme, which is something they got away with in every other genre.
>I'm not even going to touch on how you can destroy your keyboard playing some of these games.
It's a good thing you can swap out the switches without necessarily needing to solder like you would on a controller.
