The technology itself is brilliant, but Google fucked up as always. I'm currently playing Death Stranding 2 on PC thanks to streaming. No one has done more damage to this technology than Google.

I remember when I first heard about this I thought it was essentially a weak pc that could connect to steam, and play a curated list of indie games. Like it could play very non-intensive games that were well received. I thought at the time that was a great idea. Indie gaming was really taking off, but a lot of people didnโ€™t know shit about building pcs, and thought theyโ€™d have to spend thousands just to play indie games that could run on a toaster. I thought it was a great middle ground between pc and console. But no. Instead it just ran mobile game slop

The problem was the precedent it set. If you think the Stopkillinggames movement is annoying now, imagine if every AAA game was exclusive to a streaming platform with no way to ever touch the core files for modding and saving.

>oh yeah, that never existed

only oldfags know about the phantom. it was ahead of its time. it would have pioneered all the anticonsumer practices modern gamers lap up today, only we werent the giant faggots you are so it bombed with its games you dont own and hardware you cant repair or tamper with due to it being filled with epoxy.
