If you haven't already, download CKAN and start tailoring the game towards what you want it to be. The Vanilla game is quite bare-bones and will start testing your patience quickly.

Nothing beats first successful landing on moon.

Don't get too ambitious with this as a new player, and don't underestimate how long some grand campaign idea will take. There have been very long gaps, but in the JNSQ career I started four years and at least 800h of playtime ago I only just finished exploring Jool. RP-1 is exponentially more autistic than even that. But the game will stick with you forever if you want it to, I've been playing since I was 9.
