The Switch 2 is for plug & play babies. The hardware is insanely useful, but you won't be able to use it to its fullest potential because the thing de facto belongs to Nintendo. They never relinquished ownership to you.

The Deck *is* a smarter choice than a Switch 2 for a lot of people, but there are plenty of consumers who want exactly what the Switch 2 is providing (retard-proof gaming, newest Nintendo IP releases, "value" of NSO, whatever). I don't see why an actual Deck owner would care about the Switch 2 controversy; I've been too busy playing mine to really think about Nintendo.
