we haven't had any proper advancements in CPU tech since The Cell and now we're suffering for it because jeets and codelets can't write proper code
now every new CPU is just same tech but slightly faster than previous model but the tech is trash

How's that garbage looking game running this badly on a decent computer? I played games that looked better in 2015 on much weaker hardware at 60 FPS.

My system is pretty heavily GPU limited right now. I've been holding out for something <$800 (what I bought my 1080ti for in 2017) that has twice the VRAM it has (11gb).

This is the only thing believable about your setup. That aside this is what happens when you turn on vsync. If you leave all that vsync shit off like a normal human being, you would never get a frame time longer than 3ms.

they use a 240hz monitor and vsync is off. they just go into the settings and set a 60fps cap to illustrate that not even $2000 pc can get 1080p60fps.

I'll only upgrade when I can't run the latest from soft game on max settings so it looks like I'm good to go for the next decade. Nothing else is worth playing.

How long until AMD puts out something for a new sort of motherboard? My CPU is very much my PCs weak link but rather than getting a new motherboard now maybe I should wait until there's a new socket

DDR6.
Next gen.
9xxx is the last for AM5. (unless AMD decides to release 10xxx on both AM5 and AM6, they could since they could just use the old IO die for AM5)

unlimited fps would make the spikes worse retard. you're telling the cpu to ignore maxframelatency.
