Did someone on the writing team has her for waifu when they make the sequels?

liara was cute in ME1 as the young (for asari) scientist finally going out on her own. then she got overpowered and boring

Modern Bioware is dead. They've said they distanced themselves from the cancer that was the veilguard team but I don't believe it, companies don't work like that. Somehow, someway, cancerous writing will taint the new mass effect game and will butcher what little good will Liara has.

mass effect and bioware died when they got rid of drew karpshyn (the original writer) in the middle of making ME2. he had the whole trilogy planned out but bioware wanted to cut costs and didn't think spending money on actual good writers was worthwhile and shit went downhill quick

I remember he downplayed the effect he could have had on 3 saying many people wouldn't have liked it no matter what but I think he was being too modest. It wasn't just the storyboard but even the regular conversations that went downhill significantly in 3. imagine making an rpg and thinking the writers of all things should be nickel and dimed

Would destroy ending kill all of the Quarian eventually? Like they said that they need at least a decade of genetic manipulation to re-adapt to their world and leave their suits but with all technology destroyed, their suits would failed too.

It will be the final nail in the coffin for BioWare.

It's insane that after Anthem, they tried again to make a live service game with Dragon Age: Failguard (originally developed as a multiplayer game).

Now, they're making the same mistake for the third(!) time with Mass Effect.

If bioware had an ounce of talent left it'd be a small scale story during the rebuilding period as the various races squat on earth and the citadel ruin. But no it'll be bigger reapers that the regular reapers kept away by preventing anyone from becoming teched up enough to attract.

>Did someone on the writing team has her for waifu when they make the sequels?
Yes. She's very clearly the intended main love interest of the Mass Effect trilogy.
>she's a romance option in every game, nobody else is
>she's the hardest character in the trilogy to kill
>she's got more love scenes and one-on-one scenes with Shepard than anyone else
>most of the "bigger" romances in ME3 require already romancing them in a previous game but you can romance Liara out of the blue in ME3 even with no prior rapport
>she is available to both genders in every game
>infidelity in ME2 is usually impossible to get away with without breaking off the relationship first, but you can cheat on someone with Liara in ME2 no problem
>she's by far the most direct romance option in ME1 that invites the player as opposed to Kaidan/Ashley who take their time (also "ninjamancing")
>even in her friendship route she has some more-than-friends moments with Shepard
>in the case you dislike her there's no meaningful way to act on it (while other love interests can not only be killed but sometimes their whole species screwed over)
The "writer's pet" reputation exists for Liara for a reason.

I know you're right and I'm sad. Can't wait to see what they pull out of their ass and connect to Andromeda.
>Andromeda isn't moving towards the Milky Way because of gravity, it's because Andromeda is a giant hostile space monster! That's why it's moving faster now the Reapers are gone!

>she's the hardest character in the trilogy to kill
This so much. I think the only way she can die in the entire Trilogy is if you romance her in 3 but your war assets are so abysmally low that everybody but Shepard and Anderson dies on the final charge for the Citadel teleporter.

I hate Liara. I hate her voice. I hate the way she speaks. I hate the words she speaks. I hate how she is thrust down my throat at every opportunity. I hate that she is a writers pet. I hate that the writers are passive aggressive if you romance anyone else at any point. I hate. Hate. Liara. Perfect Hatred for Liara. LET ME TELL YOU HOW MUCH I'VE COME TO HATE LIARA SINCE I BEGAN TO PLAY MASS EFFECT. THERE ARE 387.44 MILLION UNSOLD COPIES OF MASS EFFECT ANDROMEDA PRINTED ON WAFER THIN GAME DISCS THAT FILL MY LOCAL GAMESTOP. IF THE WORD HATE WAS ENGRAVED ON EACH NANOANGSTROM OF THOSE HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS OF DISCS IT WOULD NOT EQUAL ONE ONE-BILLIONTH OF THE HATE I FEEL FOR LIARA AT THIS MICRO-INSTANT FOR LIARA. HATE. HATE. No blue titmilk is worth this. I'd rather get with the green Asari from Feros. I'd rather go gay for Geth. Why is this raspy blue cunt always in my peripheral vision? If there was an option at any point to kill her I would do it every single time. I'd choose the refusal ending in 3, knowing it would lead to her death but OF COURSE she gets the last word. Fuck Liara. FIGURATIVELY

Most likely.
Initial thought would be that it only targets sentient machines, but the relays prove it damages advanced technology, which should then impact the suit rats.

if she were any other race she'd be meh or maybe even fine, but she's an asari so she's shit-tier

Honestly, this wouldn’t even be the craziest twist they’ve pulled in the series. “Shepard.exe” running premium Geth subroutines with occasional memory lapses like some cybernetic PTSD? Totally on-brand for modern Bioware. They’ll milk nostalgia while shoving transhumanist themes down our throats, all layered over procedurally generated sidequests and clunky dialogue trees. I can already hear EDI doing snarky exposition dumps about how Shepard’s new body is "technically property of the Quarian Republic."
