I'm trying to stay away from 100+ hour time sink games but this game has been on my radar for a while. I heard something about being able to marry your cute cousin (yes, please) in the game.

It genuinely feels like a mobile game. It barely has a story and people play it for the cute girls and their battle animations. Combat is really easy and simple, and higher difficulties just make the battles take longer.

Mind you, there is a demo. It's 10 hours long and you can keep your progress. No reason to not check the demo first.
Game is great nonetheless, the devs are just bros.

It's very fun, but it's more about team composition than actual tactical gameplay. In other words, it's fun to exepriment with the system, but once you "solve" the game, there won't be too much resistance, which is unfortunate.

it was okay. The main problem is that it's just way too easy, and it isn't difficult to make units that can win 90+% of encounters in a single fight without taking any damage. There's a few difficult fights in the game, but they're all single fights and not full maps which makes them very easy to cheese. The game would be significantly improved if the regular enemies had just a little bit of effort put into them instead of leaving them all with bronze equipment and default ai setups

Yeah it's a fantastic game. GOTY 2024.
Has a few problems, mostly in balance, but I loved the experience.

If I were too stupid for GrimGrimoire would I still like this game? I'm awful at RTS.

It's its own kind of game. There is nowhere near the micro-managing requirements of your regular rts. But there is a lot to customize with your squads and party compositions.
There is a demo, just try it out.

That's an entirely different question.
The only gameplay that is somewhat similar was Symphony of War. That's it. There is a massive big void when it comes to these types of games.
