>get to play as the best characters in the franchise
>both characters written well (majima isn't a one dimensional psycho)
>Kino 80's setting
>shitload of fighting styles
>all the mini games you could want
>cabaret and real estate royale

These are the reasons it's my favourite.

Sad how this thread won't get any replies but Famitsu gets 20+ bump limit threads without anything interesting to say.

Literal decade's worth of experience and material to use as a base, to craft THE love letter title to both old fans and the newcomers to celebrate the franchise's tenth anniversary.

The story taking place in the distant past allowed them to shed off excess weight the series had gathered along the years (re-occuring characters and tropes), all while allowing them to do a bit more serious yakuza-mafioso tale.

The two playable characters also balances the campaign perfectly, creating a branching mystery that slowly connects in the end.

I started with 0 and every other Yakuza game has paled in comparison, especially the ones using the newer engine. Somehow the stars aligned for this one, I guess just be happy it happened.

This + luck, all that skill and creativity really payed off in 0 in a way they were never able to replicate

Better question, how did Tachibana turn off the electricity for a whole city block with the wave of his hand?

Business face vs coping with torture + ruining the opposing force's plans through sacrifice face.

>>714798017
Y0 is neither repetitive nor shallow.

Kiwameh 1-2 are shitty demakes, that are treated more as "DLC" to Y0 than as faithful remakes of the OG Y1 and 2.
The pacing, characters and gameplay are totally ruined.
