NTA but piggybacking this thread- I haven't played it since the month it launched, is it worth reinstalling? It seems they've added a lot of stuff since then.

Last time I played I got kicked for blowing up bug nests that I guess they were farming at. So if you play solo don't bother with randos.

as long as you dont suck ass, you can have fun with randoms
but actual solo? im not sure. its kind of hard to have as much utility as possible and NOT be railroaded to a single load out
playing with randoms is nice because atleast you get to switch it up and experiment and someone else will probably fill some hole in the team comp.

its really important to clear hordes of weaklings but also be able to nuke the big guys. and you need something that can seal bug holes/outposts.
my recomendation is crossbow + laser canon/arc thrower support + your secondary of choice. the game gives you options to mix it up, but that requires time invested grinding to unlock them

biggest thing to learn is enemy weak points and how to get by without medium armor penetrating weapons when you start out, how to deal with chargers solo.

Yeah its alright. Biggest problem with playing solo though is that you might be unprepared for certain things.
You can only have 4 stratagems, primary, secondary, and a throwable. You NEED to make sure you have at least 1 reliable tank killer. If you don't have any anti-tank utilities and a Charger or Bile Titan spawns, prepare for a miserable experience.
These problems are less bad on Bots and Squids, but you still need to try to be a jack of all trades when playing solo. I recommend getting the Thermite grenades or the Ultimatum.

Absolutely not, never ever. But I don't mind unlocking stuff through playing, as long as it isn't a ridiculous time commitment.

I've gotten kicked for calling evac after all the objectives were done because the others weren't near the evac zone yet. Just suddenly got a "Uuuuhm wtf??!!" in chat and then i got kicked.

Yeah, I play it tons solo, and have had some of my best sessions that way. It's quite different from playing it in a team, whether memeing for laughs or tryharding. Very worth it imo.
