Still wouldn't really think about replacing it, because it still works. Maybe i should look into it though, because my chair will probably still be in perfect shape in 20 more years except for that gastube thing and no one makes them anymore.

I bought enough material to cover the entire seat twice over, because supposedly sheepskin is delicate and wears out fast, but it's still fine 5 years later. I guess for leather, if something wears out in less than 10 years, that's fast wearing.
I think using leather is easier than fabric, because with leather, it's way more basic and stitching doesn't need to be as fine. ... if you use any stitching at all. Obviously, something that's stitched will stay together longer.
