It's still a lighthearted game about childhood fears. Not exactly the place for a domestic abuse PSA.

NiGHTS is not a good game. It's 100% arcade stuff, not even 10 year old me would have liked it, there is zero chance it'd find modern fans.
The series belongs in the past. And I say this as a big fan of the Saturn.
