Champion is ok for Dark Slop standards, Iudex is a joke.

All DS bosses are mogged hard by ER though.

No, but he is pretty good. One of the best in DS3.
>>714815178
IDK, I honestly don't really like a lot of ER bosses. Phase 1 Malenia without Waterfowl, Sewer Mohg, and maybe Godrick from the base game, and then Midra, Rellana and Messmer from the DLC are the only bosses I'd put with the DS3 top tiers.

Just played and finished DS3 for the first time yesterday. Can say he was the only boss that actually felt like he was fighting back even if it was still fairly easy. Every other boss seemed to spend half their time just letting you wail on them

Reminder he was meant to be Lothric's founding king until they rewrote the game like 4 months before release because DS3 is a fucking mess of a game that barely makes sense as it is. Once you see the cut content there's no going back because you just see the holes that are everywhere in the game.

So Gundyr. He's very clearly an Old King Doran expy. He was originally going to be in the Consumed King's Garden, which are filled with Pus of Man just like it. The area is even located to the left of the Lothric Castle path, just like the area you find Doran at in Boletaria in Demon's Souls, just like how the rest of Lothric takes after Boletaria. But instead you find Oceiros (who was a boss for a cut area) where Gundyr would be at, and behind Oceiros there's another section that gives you a gesture to access a completely isolated area (with more cut shit) and behind *that* there's a reused tutorial (likely standing for another cut area) with *another* Gundyr in it, guarding another Firelink shrine (there's like two more of those in the game) to which you're given no satisfactory explanation either. Of course the tutorial Gundyr was also replacing a boss that was moved (Yhorm, which is like several Demon's Souls references and was also replacing another boss that was moved, Wolnir, because they needed a boss for his area since they couldn't make the one they had planned work, at least until they repurposed it into DLC).

And this is just the first boss you fight.

idk about ever, but he's one of the best in the series
Just does what he needs to, no more no less, aggressive without anime bullshit and plenty of openings

In hindsight I think I'd put gundyr, nameless king, gael, ludwig and orphan as the most fun to fight without considering theme/visuals, and excluding sekiro

All those bosses make sense in the released game too.
>Gundyr
Gundyr was the founding king of Lothric who was tricked into coming to link the fire, then killed and placed in stasis to judge the worth of the Lords of Cinder and Unkindled buried in the cemetery of Ash. (Ludleth linked the fire in his stead).
>Oceiros
Oceiros married Gwynevere and had two god-blooded children. Lorian, the firstborn, was strong and powerful and was to be his heir, while the secondborn was to be made to link the Fire. Unfortunately, Lothric was born weak and frail and could never link it alone, meaning all his promises to his subjects were for naught. After Lorian and Lothric were linked together to try to prop each other up, Oceiros sought help from the Crystal Sages of the Royal Archives, who guided him to turn into a dragon to increase his personal power. He forced himself on Gwynevere and they had Ocelotte, after which she left the kingdom and the mad king was put in isolation.
>Archdragon Peak
Where the Kingdom of Lothric got its fighting traditions from, under the wing of the Nameless King.
>Yhorm
A giant, son of a conqueror, for whose sins he sought to atone. He linked to Fire with the promise that the dangerous Profaned Flame (an inextinguishable Flame pulled out of the Dark) would be kept under watch, when he woke up and saw it had been used for ill he went back to his Capital to guard it personally.
>Wolnir
A conqueror that was hated by many (father of Yohrm, which is why he was mistrusted), he sought to subjugate all kingdoms and use the victims to turn himself into a reverse of Nito, the Last of the Dead, and rule at the head of an immortal skeleton army. He fell into the Abyss for all of this occult research and was only held back by the bracers of three clerics, until you break them.
>Why are all these placed connected and fused
The flame burning all creation to fuel iself is making all the lands converge upon it, if it wasn't clear enough from the Dreg Heap.

Why is there a giant opened coffin in Gundyr's arena?
Why does Gundyr look like Old King Doran?
Why do the Consumed Gardens have graves on the walls?
Why does Wolnir have bling all over his body?
Why is the 'Profaned Capital' two hallways?
Why does the game's intro show an Anor Londo surrounded by sand and a human-sized Soul of Cinder dragging a body inside Firelink Shrine?
Why can you see pic related in the final game?

One of the very few actually fair and non-bullshit DS3 bosses that don't rely on the combination of misleading telegraphs and instant-hitting attacks to force trial and error gameplay. Parrying makes him too easy tho.

>also respect your own skill.
Bruh half of the fights in these shit games is against the camera and most enemy attacks are faster than the fucking massive input lag on dodge. Mitsubishi and his cohort of F-grade developers have nothing but contempt for the retards who STILL buy their slop even though they barely if at all improved upon the extremely janky gameplay after 10-something years. Can't balme them, though, it takes a special kind of retard to mistake being forced to learn all enemy moves by heart for skill.

It's funny that even basic enemies in Elden Ring outclass Demon's and Dark Souls enemies in terms of complexity and just, you know, working correctly. A lot of bosses from those games are some slightly larger-than-average entity with three, maybe four moves - only one of which does anything threatening.
