the problem is that too many players get accustomed to the low tier bots doing objectives for them and so dont even know what theyre supposed to be doing. even in GM i get so many games on misra or the moon base one where your team do not even know you have to get the key and deliver it. its ridiculous how you can even get to that point without learning any of the maps at all. or ignore the points you have to disarm in observatory and instead fight off in the middle of nowhere trying to rack up kills while a falcon just zips around and gets every point

You're correct, i've gotten good at it, but it's simply not enough to take on anyone.
The fact that you can't get either skills off against a melee opponent and your only recourse is spamming your shotgun dooms you.
The shotgun will never have enough damage to burn through any opponent with fluid armor by the time it is out of ammo, and then you're really extra-fucked.

Actually yes and you should counter-abuse it against him. At full-screen the multi-target is way more likely to waste his bullets which are a limited resource that recharges one by one instead of simply reloading at full mag. As an Aquila the best use of that skill is actually to regenerate maybe two bullets faster, cancel it and go back to manual aiming to make every shot count OR use it to get a free kill on some one trying to 1v1 you wrong, the multi-target is a huge meme outside of PvE.
To properly 1v1 an Aquila is to position yourself between him and your own team so he wastes his entire mag on your team and becomes a sitting duck with no real defense options besides running away while reloading and likely dying to you.
And if you're a Falcon for the love of god don't use the spiral descent as that makes you a much easier target for manual aiming than even flying straight.

tl;dr if you're against an Aquila an can see your own team on your screen that means he has only you on his and you're now in the firing range of a colony laser, get the fuck out

Welkin gets raped by the other melee mechas once his cooldowns are burnt; its far more reliant on them than the other melee strikers. You can also poke at it while it's stuck spinning. If it gives chase you can just flee, it doesn't have that much energy. And if tries to chase one of the melee mechs, the poor Welkon is going to get parried countered. Still and extremely strong striker, but it's not some spin to win god.

Worse, if the Welkin does hit your shield, they lose like 1/3 of their HP to a charged lance.
