It's crazy how much people just straight up like about this game because of the fetishistic vendetta they have against it. It's the first stealth game to actually evolve the gameplay formula since MGS2.
>>714833591 (OP)i refunded it because i didn't want to pay money to see joel die, can't even be bothered to pirate it
The gameplay mechanics are fundamentally great. It's just in a dour, joyless package of grey, gloomy run down buildings and forests. It's not just the story and characters that are a joyless mess, it also ties into the gameplay
>>714833902wdym? the game's color palette is very vibrant, almost surreal. much of the story is fun adventuring, the serious bits are few and far between.
>>714833591 (OP)It’s a great game. The gunplay, stealth, and movement feel nice and smooth. Most people just have an issue with the story
>>714833591 (OP)There were moments I enjoyed the game when it would just shut up and let itself be a game. Unfortunately the fun I had with the combat sections felt completely bogged down by the pacing of the scavenging exploration and the story.
Legitimately a great game but I had to take it in bursts because it got depressing as fuck to watch these 2 characters constantly make decisions that seemed precision designed to ruin their lives or get put into godawful situations. I'm sure cuckman was trying to hammer home the point of the story with that but after a while the game just got emotionally exhausting
>slaughter my way through various encampments listening to people cry out in anguish whenever I kill an enemy NPC
>get to cutscene where abby/ellie look at several options and immediately leaps for the one that is the most impulsive, alienating, and has the most horrendous consequences
>every once in a while throw in a nightmare sequence or a flashback to hanging out with a character you know is going to die horrifically (and oftentimes for no reason)
>repeat until the very end where ellie is left completely alone and physically destroyed

Still, pretty good game. First time I ever felt vaguely bad for killing enemy NPCs but maybe that's just because I'm getting soft in my 30's. I know a lot of people hated on naughty dog after Uncharted 4 and TLOU2 but they are two of my favorite games because the characters they feature seem more flawed/human than any other characters I've seen in video games for a while
>>714833591 (OP)this game is like 75% gay pointless in game cutscenes and like 25% gameplay though
They cancelled factions twice in favor of making the game twice as long as it needed to be
