What do you mean? It's a direct translation of the ideas and iconography of the games. Miyamoto observed that the film's problem was that tried to hard to be like the games.

devil Survivor 2 was pretty crap. Rushed the main plot in too few episodes. Reduced most everyone's character arc to a vague over simplification or grossly mischaracterized them entirely. Went for some lame reset friendship ending too.

It was damn artsy as fuck but retards only ever remember the girl with the glowing butt. This shit needs an HD release. But generally I don't think they wanted to mess with how players interpret their own play throughs of each game. Not that many of them allowed for wildly different takes but still how players imagine certain things can come off quite differently. Frankly this is why I never liked it when voice acting and over emphasis on cinematics become the norm. Even if it's just something as simple as internal character voice it changes a lot.

Normally, I would agree since we are talking about it being an adaptation but the Mario movie is going against Netflix Castlevania. If the Mario movie has nothing to do with Mario, Netflix Castlevania is a deliberate bastardization like one of those porn parodies or doujins except it is not even good that department. The message of the show is actively the opposite of the game series.

What does that even mean. Circa 1993, I mean. Mario isn't exactly a lore rich franchise now let alone back then before anything was really defined.

I kind of hate how well the recent mario movie did. I know people had lower expectations after the movie from the early 90s that didn't look anything like the games but that's kind of all the new one really is. It's almost an opposite extreme. The plot is by numbers and it feels like they knew that's all it had to be. Just make it look like the games and have an endless parade of references. They even play Mario Kart in pure video game fashion. It certainly conveys the difference between film and games at art forms. But Is that really all fans of the games want? Just to clap at beloved imagery? I know younger audiences and everything but I have seen adults lose their shit and it just feels so shallow.

I watched and liked the entire Trevor series, the Richter series was a bunch of black women fighting slavery and black female vampires or something I don't know I fucked dropped it and I never drop any series but it was fuckin BAAAAAAAD. I never watched the Resident Evil one but I assume that one is pretty bad too

Can you even call it adaptation if it has nothing to do with the original beside the title? Like I watched this movie without knowing it's name and I didn't know it's related to Finał Fantasy until many years later. I wonder what fans of the series thought about this movie when it first came out.
