Damn this shit sounds good. Like its actually trying to have some intentionality and identity to its level design. Why is this game so forgotten then? Ive been looking for an action adventure game that would actually try to commit to being more than just straight brute force action with like 1 or 2 "puzzles" every 5 hours where youre just standing still in a room interacting with things disconnected from the enviroment mostly like a prompt.

Is this IGN vid wrong? Every other video essay on YouTube seems to dislike the game. I dont know which normie side to listen to, the ones that hate or love the game, its why I dont want to listen to the normies at all, because they would have led me to believe The Last of Us was bad because they dont care about the gameplay, and the haters are a different type of wannabe that also doesn't care about the gameplay, just what theyve arbitrarily decided the gameplay represents.

But its never the true gamers who played TLOU on grounded that ever elucidate it's value, which having played on grounded, I now understand and appreciate.

I dont want to make the mistake of ignorance and hasty judgment based on a common overarching perception. I want to enjoy videogames in all the interesting ways it can be designed. If designed well.

retard is this why so many /v/tards cant talk about videogames unless its the length of a twitter post and not actually about videogames? because they pretend it means they actually play videogames more

it has better everything except the story (like DeSt2 is)
the graphics are higher fidelity
way higher enemy and boss variety
more skills
level design is better and incorporates verticality
larger map with more exploration and Zelda like unlocks
better animations
way better environmental storytelling

sadly still no jump button but it is what it is

It is an amazing game, it's one of the better sequels which improve upon it's predecessor so much it kind of obsoletes it gameplay wise.

There's no "Uhhm- so I actually don't know why I'm writing this post" included, so I doubt it.

>storyslop game has a shitty story
that kind of nullifies the whole game

it's debatable. it is either he himself or an imposter. or someone used chatGPT to mimic his style. it is probably him because of the focus on puzzles and his retarded need to use a thesaurus in a vain attempt at elevating his post. also, asking questions like "Is this IGN vid wrong?" watching videoslop and then asking others to verify the integrity of the information contained within. also, praising TLOU. and a myriad of other tells that i won't get into.

the story isn't bad, it just isn't as good as the first game. it's mostly down to how tight the first game's narrative beats are and it has a smaller cast too so it's easier to execute.

Ragnarok has a more ambitious, longer story so it flubs a bit here and there and the pacing particularly the Atreus sections suck.
