To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Death Stranding. The gameplay is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of the trigger buttons most of the traversal will go over a typical gamer's head. There's also Kojima's nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his writing - his personal philosophy draws heavily from Hollywood movies, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these references, to realize that they're not just films - they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Death Stranding truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the meaning behind Amelie's existential catchphrase "Like Mario and Princess 'Beach'" which itself is a cryptic reference to videogame classic, Super Mario Bros. 2. I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Kojima's genius unfolds itself on their television screens. What fools... how I pity them. And yes by the way, I DO have a Norman Reedus tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It's for the ladies' eyes only- And even they have to demonstrate that they're within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand.

Kinda makes me empathetic to kojima.
No wonder he is so high off smelling his own farts if he is surrounded by anal lickers like this for decades now.

This idea of what?
Top you're extracting an old man from a basement in an abandoned building from the middle of a building in the middle of africa.
Bottom, you're fighting a vengeful spirit in a death realm of fire.
This is "the same idea" to you? Or are you talking about the fact candles exist because... I don't know how to tell you this bud but candles alongside boxes and barrels are some of the most common videogame assets in existence.
