People grow up with their hobby and the hobby grows up with them. MMOs were full of kids when the genre was new playing shit like WoW or Runescape, but now those same people still play WoW or Runescape as 30+ year olds while no new people get into the genre.

I sometimes donate packs of pokemon cards from the magazines at my church (because safeguarding says we can't give kids TCG cards directly.) to my local card shop because have a under 16s pokemon night as well as a general under 18 game night. Its pretty popular as far as I know and they've also produced 2 MtG under 18 judges.
Might be different because I live in a university city but I'm pretty sure more arcades and such have a dedicated no adult day.

For the most part, not any that I've ever gone to. The most you usually get is stuff like Friday Night Magic that is understood to be all-ages and the usual patrons are more "well-behaved," if they ever were even a problem to begin with.

Granted, a lot of stores that can afford now also have a dedicated play area that's more separated from the shop than they used to, and the obese geeks that actually actively wanna play are thus indirectly sequestered as a result, so that may be a half-intended effect. It made so that, often times, the people actually out on the main floor weren't the kind of 400lb balding pizza face slimeballs that are 43 years old, carrying around 4 different Battletech lances so anyone can play with him, and is there for 3 hours every night to play draft with their 110lb friends.

Enjoying video games as a hobby (a couple hours a week and maybe you talk about it with some friends) is perfectly healthy and acceptable at any age range. The issue is that video games are addictive and create obsessive losers. Alcohol and many other things do this too, but people have mostly caught on and thus encourage each other to enjoy in moderation; video games, on the other hand, don’t have the same societal push to be balanced with the rest of life.

I am a super-casuak Warhammer fan (in that I basically get one of those small boxes they have once a year) and every time I've gone in there's been like two people just hanging around like they've got nothing better to do.
It's the same with EB Games (because that's the only dedicated games store left here). I don't mind so much if it's a lonely teenager, but seeing adults in their 30s acting like this is just tragic.
