Its actually mind boggling how many people, especially here,are mindlessly hyped for this shit. RDR 2 was "fine" and everything else from GTA 1-3 remake to RDR 1 remaster have all been just shit. Finally a constant stream of shit monetization on GTA online. Its like... These games haven't been "good" since GTA IV and that games online service. And the majority of people who played that and remember it were preteens or early twenties who keep trying to recapture the nostalgia of those times in GTA 6. But that company is long gone.

Most people have absolutely no standards and the success of the "demake" trend should have already made that crystal clear.
Everyone with a brain left after gta4 because the series stagnated harder than a puddle of green water, gta5 bought nothing new from a gameplay aspect and has even less features than a fucking ps2 game.
In the best case scenario we have a starfield situation we're the game sells big but is so boring that Rockstars reputation burns to dust.

It's okay to think GTA isn't that good, but you think GTA IV was good. Play through that game again, it has charming vibes but missions/car chases are repetitive as fuck, nevermind the lack of features compared to SA and V.
So yes I will look forward to GTA VI because it will surely be much improved over V and RDR2.

Considering that the oblivion remastered only sold because of Xbox users that played the game in their youth aka nostalgia and starfield was ripped apart for being unbelievably bad while also losing the support of the modding community the chances are good that it will sell significantly less than it needs to.
We are also at a point now that people stopped giving Bethesda a free pass for their incompetence and actually discuss the issues like writing, quest design, bugs etc, simultaneously we have games like tainted grail or even KCD that slowly fill into the vacuum Bethesda left by not releasing a elder scrolls game for 14 years and there is also the general fall of the AAA sphere and it's legacy studios.
So yeah the chances are not too bad.

Most people literally do not care about what goes on behind the curtain. They see a logo of a company and that's it.
They don't know any devs by names, they don't care what person worked on which games (except for like 3 japs and Todd Memeward).

They see Rockstar and think a good game will be released. That all the capable people gradually left the company after GTAV was finished (because they got disgruntled by shareholders and publisher) is arcane knowledge to most gamers.
That's why they still have expectations.

I liked every single GTA game I have played so I don't see why GTA 6 would be the exception.

I've enjoyed every GTA game since the Platinum GTA 3 release.
Every GTA has been a massive upgrade from the one before (except maybe GTAIV but thats because GTASA was that good). RDR2 is also a massive upgrade from RDR and even from GTA5. I don't see why GTA6 would be any different, with all the new technologies that have came up since the gtav release
