Nah sadly it sucks. They did try to improve it post patch, but prior to that, it was taunt spam: the game

The survival mode is even incredibly half baked compared to SOR4's one, which I consider the absolute peak of survival mode genre modes.

I know it will sound stupid and obvious but SoR2 on Hardest or Mania.
Also Final Fight 1 and The Punisher. SoR2 already took many enemy attack design from FF1, but SoR4 takes it a step further and pretty much remixes most of the enemies found in those 2 games.
Final Fight 1 also on Hardest dip switch. If you care about combo autism and plenty of characters, big blue frontend is making a remake of FF1 and it has all retro options so you can play it on a CRT if you care about stuff like that.

from a serious perspective the enemies aren't super good at threatening you because player power and comboability in this game is crazy, but you have to get good enough first to be able to do that

SOR4's survival mode wasn't great. You just stacked elemental effects on dash attacks and kept using them.

Yes. It was nothing special. The best thing about it are the playable robots designs. They're good for gooning but frankly wasted in this game.

Not fun. I'll play Fight'n'Rage til Absolum comes out. Played the demo with a friend and had a few hours of bonafide fun. Can't wait for the full version.
