>>714897298Well that's the thing, I don't think there's anything in-depth that talks about how Microsoft handles their own companies from an internal perspective, or if there is I haven't found it. Closest thing I know of is that Redfall did badly because the Austin branch of Arkane responded to Zenimax's call about making a live service game before it was acquired by Microsoft and it went through troubled development and a revamp (heh, vamp) or two before being released in its state, while the developers were not experienced in the engine. Studios make mistakes, they experiment, it's all fine and dandy, but one game and they got shut down by Microsoft, no room for experimentation, only making guaranteed successes, that's pretty bad. I'm not sure about the other studios though, Hi-Fi Rush's studio was apparently shut down despite the game being a success, by now I don't know what their strategy is, I guess some higher-up got mad that Microsoft was losing 0.3% of its yearly revenue towards funding videogames instead of AI or whatever the fuck current money printing scheme or investment meme Microsoft is falling for.
