Holding on to an item? That's cute, the blue shell takes it away. The ghost which also appears more than twice of what it did in 64 will take it, the blue shell will take it or the 15 lightning bolts will take it.
I get that the chaos is the fun, and it's a kid's game, but the item ratios are fucking ridiculous.

Because you're always in the lead. You can get the lightning bolt in 2nd place

Impossible...

In 64 on Wario Stadium you stay last hoping for that lightning.
Then when you get it you check your friends' screens and time it so that they fail the jump.
Easy win every time.
