Unleashed is better for mastery because of the more stringent S Rank requirements. Generations hands those out like candy, one of the worst 3D Sonics in that regard actually

Shadow Generations is too easy to get S ranks in but it's the most fun to improve course times because the doom powers (minus Wing) add a lot of interesting routing potential, and they finally got rid of 2D sections in 3D levels altogether

Shit like that squid that goes faster than your run speed so it takes over 20 minutes to even get a single hit on, the balls enemy that can only be beaten if you use the "instant win" kicking upgrade, that fucking turtle from the second island... I couldn't stomach any more once I started that desert island. Genuinely incompetent on every level. The fact that that game is the best Iizuka could do should have got him Gunpei Yokoi'd
