>>714890165 (OP) as a boot drive or game storage? if first just get a 128GB ssd boot drive they're so dirt cheap. for game storage i just put the games i play the most on ssd and other on HDD
>>714892195 You only need to install it you dingus, although moving windows to it would be good to get faster boot times.

>>714890165 (OP) so ive got >256 GB NVME for OS >2TB HDD for stuff >2*2TB HDD in RAID 1 for more stuff >126GB SSD for VM what should i do with my 126gb ssd I dont even have software to setup a vm in my current setup since i didint feel the need to access windows 10 from linux and yet 126gigs feels too insignificant for any use to actually use it as a harddrive.
>>714892195 Use clonezilla. Migrate the entire windows partition to the new drive provided new drive is at least the same size. The most that will happen is windows will update its storage driver but otherwise it'll work. I did exactly that to migrate from a stone age Hitachi 2TB HDD to a Crucial P3 2TB. It even successfully dodged the bad sectors I didn't even know I had. No mess, no fuss.

Yeah you fucking retard, because your retro dogshit doesnt need to run on an ssd and the games that do need to run on an ssd are so big you can only put like 20 games that need it on it.

>>714897491 You can install big games under 126gb on it if you ever play them
>>714890165 (OP) I have a 500gb nvme ssd with several 2tb hdd's and I am continually rotating between which games need the ssd I would buy a better ssd but i am unemployed and need to save money at least now I have 32gb of ram

>>714898296 dunno setting up that 126 gig ssd for few games feels like wasted effort now if this was like 500 gig one i could use it to store all my photos and videos and music and keep the games on the HDDs but 100 gigs doesnt seem enough.
maybe if you stopped spending money on cigs, you'd be able to afford hardware before it keeps going up like it has been. DDR4 availability is so low that it now costs more than DDR5 so they're manufacturing more of 4.

>>714902435 It is. Games that small arent getting bottleknecked by their hdd. Theyre bottlenecked by your cpu.

>loses a quarter of its storage capacity every couple of years until you have to throw it away and buy another one wow color me shocked that this is getting pushed as the hot new standard ssd stands for shills sucking dicks
