Most American gas stations are complete shitholes; it's as if a small piece of the most nigger-infested street of Detroit was transplanted onto a random street corner every couple of kilometers across the US.
Buccee's on the other hand, doesn't feel like you are going to get stabbed or have your credit card info stolen. All of the employees are white and happy to see you. The store is clean and well maintained. Furthermore, the gas is priced cheaper than normal and there are plentiful restrooms so that there is never a line.
Basically, Buccee's is the Steam of American gas stations; it's not liked because Buccee's is great, it's liked because the other options are terrible.

I do not understand the excitement either. Buc-ee's is a nice place to stop if you're on a road trip, trucking, long distance driving, etc but it isn't some sort of incredible destination you HAVE to visit. It is like:

>Or I can go to a clean, well lit, well stocked gas station with white employees who speak English and they serve food that is decently edible and maybe buy some random thing I realize I need
I used to do a lot of driving for work and Buc-ee's was cool and all, but it wasn't like "BOY DAWG HOWDY I GET TO STOP AT THE BUC, BOYS. THIS IS THE LIFE" it is more like "Oh, cool, there is one along my route so I'll stop there to eat something, use the bathroom, and buy an energy drink + snacks for the rest of the long drive"
