A deep resentment for the armor system. I'm sure that necrofire doesn't set your physical PC on fire as bad as it used to, but you're going to hate that too.

You can pretend to be intelligent all you want: the fact of the matter is that the armor system made the game less fun. DOS1 was more FUN because you could fireball into an unaltered crowd and kill all of them. DOS2 is less fun because when you cast that same fireball into that same crowd, 50% of them will take 0 damage. It's not FUN.

Shut the fuck up already

DOS1 had one meta that was clearly stronger than all the others, which was just perma-spamming CC. DOS2 remedied this and has much better balanced the combat with the armor system and the round-robin system. You can still apply CC, but CC are in armor or magic-armor class, and you must deplete that armor type if they have it. There are also some that can go through armor, such as with talents.

All this does is stop braindead universally OP CC spam strats

You may not personally like the system, that's fine, not everyone will. But it's not a flawed or bad system, it's just a new and unique approach that shakes up combat, requires consideration in combat and teambuilding, and rebalances the hyperfocus on CC spam from the previous game, while making more builds viable. Nor does it force monotype teams, phys mono, magic mono, and hybrid are absolutely all viable, even on honour, and have pros and cons and different playstyles.

Arguably the best RPG of all time.

DOS2 has absolutely top-notch
>sense of adventure, immersion, and world-building
>free-form, challenging, open-ended combat with a strong focus on environmental interaction
>deep mechanics, strong strategic elements, and high replayability
>memorable fights against a huge variety of well-designed enemies and bosses in unique scenarios that take part in context of a greater narrative/quest, instead of just being braindead throwaway trashmobs to farm
>tons of classes, builds, spells, playstyles to tinker with
>world design and inter-connectivity
>open-ended and branching quest design, interactivity, and reactivity
>player choice and freedom
>lighthearted writing that knows when to be serious and with engaging companion arcs
>attention to detail, ability to interact with anything, go anywhere, go in any interior, steal anything, kill anyone, story always adapts to your actions

There are many games that are strong in one aspect, and weak in most others. DOS2 is as strong in its weakest aspects as most RPGs are in their strongest aspect. It is just such an incredibly well-rounded game, and it especially excels in open-ended environmental-based combat, player choice and freedom, and interactivity/reactivity that are completely untouched by any other comparable RPG in existence (except other Larian RPGs).

the Driftwood music is going to get stuck in your head like you wont believe.
Also, try to bumrush 2 points of the Huntsman spec and 2 points of the Aeromancy spec as fast as you can. Grab the spells Tactical Retreat and Teleport brotherman

Yes, what you just described is called "fun."
I don't need multiple playstyles for a game that I intend to play once. I want one fun explosive BOOM BOOM playstyle and DOS1 provided that. I enjoyed it.
DOS2 took that away from me.
