There was hype and fandom interest with the first game despite the flaws (the ridiculously bad and tone deaf story and painful voice acting).

The second game just took way too long to come out and the story was again, generic and by the numbers with a "but they are one of the good one" racism storyline. The music also wasn't as good as the first game, even if the soundtrack had a couple of standouts.

They're genuinely great games. I loved both the first and second game and put them above the classic sonic games and mania. FP 1 definitely had way more soul than FP 2 though.

As for why people aren't talking about it. I'm guessing they either don't know about it or care about it. There are far more relevant things to discuss on /v/ now and coom threads polluting the boards to leave much space for a niche franchise like this.
