I like the final fantasy road trip stuff better than basically any other part of that game. It made me just want a final fantasy inspired road trip game that went full into the idea instead of bringing in the other elements.

I actually think XVI is worse, at least there are parts of XV with promise. I'll never stop wishing for the nomura cut tho. You just know those PS3 builds they used to show screens of in magazines represented a very different game.

Strongly disagree, completely different energy. X was never famously called a road trip rpg before XV came out. That's something people called XV and for very good reason, so when people say they'd like something that focused in on a final fantasy inspired road trip style in game form they really do not mean X and you're deeply, deeply out of touch with what people mean when they say that if you really believe X in any way resembles what they're looking for.
