yeah those motherfuckers have +50% melee damage

only way to fight neanderthal sappers is to turtle in a 2 wide hallway with giga nigga tough fully armored melee in front and a gunline in the back, maybe throw some molotovs

You brought this upon yourself. Build a turret nest on top of every geiser on the map and throw some around your base (including inside your base). They don't just deal damage, they aggro enemies and give you time to react, and also pretty much solve maddened animal threats.

+ allow you to send caravans without leaving your soiboi colonists defenseless (lack of components is no excuse, now you can just go out and buy them)
+ watching people's head blow up from an uranium bullet fired from across the map is always cool even if it's your own dudes

if it's a big enough threat that they can reach the turrents you use your dudes to flank them, target the most dangerous raiders and divert their focus while they're getting fucked in the ass by constant fire from the turrets that's doing the bulk of your dps. Worst case scenario you retreat to the ones at your base and build back better once it's over. One geothermal can power 24 auto/uranium turrets so it only costs you materals (no advanced components) there's no reason not to do it.

Breaching axes do exactly what they say on the tin
Put turrets where you don't want sappers do go, doesn't do anything to breachers
