You can get a rifle in that same mission, and the crossbow too. The GEP Gun can destroy bots, doors, safes, basically anything that can be damaged. And people too but that is usually overkill. It's really dumb how it makes lockpicking and electronics irrelevant.

If you do you can get the Rifle from a NSF soldier patrolling one of the yards around the statue, it's a really good weapon once you upgrade Rifle to Master, there's no need to upgrade heavy weapons for the GEP Gun, it's already good even Untrained

Crossbow is pretty shit, it's supposed to be a stealth weapon but enemies go on a frenzy after being hit before finally falling unconscious.
Sniper rifle is good but requires dumping points into rifles, especially if you want to oneshot lategame enemies with a headshot.
GEP gun is the best choice against robots, functions as a lockpick, and requires basically no training. Easily the best pick.

The prod will stun enemies in one hit from any direction but it has basically no range, you really have to be touching the enemy for it to work.

Guards still need to take a few hits from the poison DoT if you headshot them with poison darts, even at master level they won't instantly go down. Normal darts don't have that problem but they are somewhat rare. Just shoot darts near enemies so that they turn their backs to you and whack them with a baton or prod.

Not instantly but they immediately go in to flight mode and then collapse a few seconds later. Unless they are right next to an alarm button or something you're good.
Of course even a leg shot will do if they can't find you.

Thing is the GEP gun does all that shit and more without any investment. Either way you can get both of them in the first level if you pick the GEP Gun. Like someone said if you don't pick the GEP Gun you have to wait until the airport level to acquire one.

Yeah just explore, but they are not that common because the prod is a free stun without the need for stealth, if you can stealth you can use the Baton and hit their lower back it's an instant knockout even without training.

GEP doesn't do it from 1000m though. It isn't very silent either. you fire one GEP rocket and half of MJ12 are yelling out "Denton"

but yeah get the GEP early on. sniper is better once you level it up though cause it's longer range and quieter. GEP can't compare

The point of the crossbow is to shoot the ground around you're target opposite from you, so that they turn around and look at the noise with their back to you. When distracted like this they will ignore the sound of movement and you can score a guaranteed stealth hit.
