>PC shooters now are just about how fast you can aim at enemy; movement, routing, strategy, game knowledge, etc. are all secondary to "lol just aim at head rly fast XD" like you're playing a damn aim trainer
>this is aggravated even worse by the constant spamming of quicksave and quickload (literal save states) to remove and trivialize all challenge of the game.
What went wrong? This is why I unironically enjoy console shooters more nowadays and why HALO ran circles around PC shooters of its era, because it really felt like a continuation and advancement of that DOOM formula without losing the fundamentals of what makes a shooter game fun.

almost all console shooters, including the biggest fps series of all time (CoD and Halo) are doomlikes
