how fun is Monster Hunter solo?

I only play solo. It's harder of course because the monster is only focused on you and your cat, but not annoyingly hard or tedious hard. I like it a lot solo.

Solo is the best way to play MH. everyone always recommends fighting every monster solo at least once before going online, so you can appreciate the fight. Multiplayer often makes fights a cake walk. The only real reason to go online is if you're farming a monster and want to speed up the grind.

There is a demo for rise where can try it out. Even if you don't want to buy rise it has similar enough feeling weapons and combat to get a feel for it. Keep in mind that rise is a switch game originally so if you are a vain graphicsfag you will get the ick from it.

Depends on the game. Anything past world is braindead easy solo due to monster health scaling with player count.

FU G rank 3 star I would say not really, because you're swinging for a good 20-30 minutes with only 2 mistakes allowed realistically but I can't speak for the other games.

Usually I find it easier in some ways because at least I know what the monster is going to do (try to murder me)

Really telegraphed monsters like FU Tigrex is probably easier solo because you can just time level 3 GS charges whereas in multiplayer or even with cats he's harder to exploit.

giving the monster a ton more health doesn't make it harder though. it just means you run away and gather some herbs if you run out healing items.

All of rise
All of wilds
On GU i'm still only at high rank but it was all done solo
same story with MHF2/U but that's way more of a slog considering elder dragons need to be fought twice to kill. I'm so glad they realised that was very silly

Soloing is much easier than multiplayer hunting
