I love the gaudy aesthetic of games. As for the animations, the biggest problem isn't the lack of skill in NRS, but the unified body parts system. Fatalities have to be universal. The thing that makes these games sell millions is also the thing that kills them. They should do a design overhaul on the fatalities system. Since 2D games hitboxes are based on the character model and create a lot of wacky things like whiffing moves when they should hit

Stages have height, it's not exclusive to MK. But it's in every game in the series

It has weird input problems. It probably comes from the fatalities system. I don't know if MK1 still has this

This is deep. But I think it's because of the game's delimb system
Bad animations are not exclusive to these games. But they're more recognizable in them, because they try to be more grounded despite wacky stuff like bycicle kicks.
