I still don't understand why they went for a remaster of Sigma 2 instead of remaking NG1.
NG1 is a very good game plagued by some outdated design choices, like an interconnected world with a fair amount of backtracking, but enemies that respawn endlessly and make going around the map kinda annoying.
I was replaying it recently (Sigma, i'm too lazy to hook up my 360) and i fucking HATE how many times you have to fight some boring ass enemies over and over again because you didn't know where to go and just going in and out of a zone will make them reappear.
I do hope, however, that in NG4 they go back to a game with more open enviroments like NG1, i'm playing NG2B and it's a fun hack n' slash, but it's really a hallway simulator.
>but it's really a hallway simulator.
You're think of Devil May not have interesting enemies or environments, actually.
>>714962427 (OP)Have you played sigma 2? Its a horrible gimped version of 2 and they already remade NG1 twice with black and sigma 1. The one that really needs to be made better is 3 and that game is so fundamentally fucked I don't see how it can be done without just starting over from scratch.
>>714962427 (OP)because they uh... lost the source code!
ps: I can't wait for the decompilations and recompiles. sligma and 2 black are a stain on the series
>>7149628433 is unfixable, they tried with Razor's Edge, they would need to re-do the game. Not remake, they would need to make another game and call it NG3.
>>714963020I wonder how viable that is, since even a decompiling a game like Mario 64 or Ocarina of Time was a major effort by an entire group of autistic people who loved these (way simpler) games.
>Backtracking
It's the pacing breaking sixth generation indiana jones puzzles, mainly in the water stages that kill the game, especially on higher difficulties. I remember having tanked the water puzzle with potions. But apart from that the backtracking is fine
>Enemy Respawn
You'll love that they respawn on the higher difficulties. And you need it to get the second best weapon in the game, the Paddleboat
It's the best game in the series.
>>714963106I just say 3 because I don't see a point in distinguishing between the two versions because they're both horrible games.
>>714963573I'm not complaining about that, but about the fact that you can just leave a zone by an inch, come back, and they will have respawned. At least wait for me to go to another place and then come back to respawn the enemies.
>>714965451if you're that much of a bitch, you can easily ignore enemies and just run past them
>>714963020Honestly expect shitbox/microshit to release their emulator on PC before the decomp will be finished given how slow its been.
>>714967478NG2 is coming at least so all that's left to do is wait
>>714962427 (OP)I'm a dmc pro and I've tried to beat the first boss on ninja dog difficulty 150 times and still can't do it.
>>714962493What do you think you're going to accomplish with this post? Trick us into thinking we haven't played ninja gaiden 2? OP is right. it's hallways. cope moar
>>714963903that's retarded. if you believe razors edge is as bad as 3 it's absurd to try and remake 3 at all. Just make a different game at that point
>>714971538I think TN actually has the OG source code but is legally obligated by KT's lawyers to pretend they don't because of Itagaki's involvement and name in the credits, so in order to avoid paying him royalties or going to court they simply claim to have lost the source code. >inb4 but muh NG2B it's literally just a UE5 reskin over Sigma 2 but with Itagaki's name removed entirely which acts as a legal loophole and the fact that it's outsourced
This, taking into account that companies maintain codebases for years. It's hard to believe they lost that shit. There are some crazy fumbles in these companies and things like accidents can happen. But it's a legal matter
>>714962427 (OP)To spite itagaki and keep from including him in credits
