Did the devs have more freedom then when it came to including game mechanics that were fun to to learn?
>blue shell dodge with a mushroom
>minimizing the pow block effect with a wheelie
>being able to drift across small gaps without falling down
>throwing bananas and fake boxes at specific angles mid-air so you can snipe others

MK8 feels very dumbed down compared to this.
